About Us

Dog Tired Designs is a small web and graphic design studio based out of upstate NY. We provide distinctive web, identity, and print solutions for businesses and individuals with a focus on the pet industry. We cater mainly to small and medium-sized businesses, as well as startups and independent contractors.

We like to keep up with current design trends, but our level of experience also allows us to tap traditional and classical design fundamentals as well. We love all types of design - from sleek and modern to whimsical to grunge. We apply this appreciation for design to every distinct project we receive.

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT

We’re a small company consisting of a lead designer (and founder) and a handful of dedicated specialists. The lead designer works on the creative process and project management while the developers are responsible for making sure your website is properly structured, carefully coded, and fully optimized for search engine visibility. Because we’re a small studio we don’t carry much overhead costs - resulting in beautiful design solutions for your pet business at a fraction of the cost of competing companies.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Hello, my name is Dave Springer, founder and lead designer at Dog Tired Designs. As a client of our studio, you would work directly with me on all design projects. I’ve put together an overview of my history and how I’ve come to start this little design studio. Hopefully it’ll give you insight as to how we stand out in a sea of designers.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Dave Springer first developed skills in computer programming and graphic design during his early teens. Building upon this foundation, Dave pursued a second career in web design and marketing, launching his first website in 1997, while the Internet was still in its infancy.

Dave opened his first website design business, DS Grafix, in 1999. During DS Grafix initial run from 1999 to 2004, Dave was the lead web designer for the company, having built dozens of websites for small to medium sized businesses. DS Grafix ultimately fell victim to the Dot Com bust, and Dave refocused on his primary career as the Web Administrator for a local company.

Over the next several years, Dave launched and maintained several personal websites and stayed knowledgeable about current design trends and standards.

In 2012, the "itch" got Dave again, and he returned to freelance work under Flipped Pixel Media, llc. Under the umbrella of Flipped Pixel Media operates dogtireddesigns.com, as well as flippedpixel.com and several other websites.
